For Patients

Working to Help Patients Feel Better & Live Healthier

If you have been diagnosed with primary or secondary lymphedema, lymphedema as a result of cancer treatment, or Chronic Venous Insufficiency (CVI), you may be prescribed a Sequential Compression Device (SCD) to be used at home.

If you have massive arm or leg swelling, venous ulcers, or other similar complications, you may also be a candidate for therapy using a SCD.

PROTRADE Medical designs, manufacturers, and distributes this type of device, also known as a compression pump or lymphedema pump.

Our team at PROTRADE Medical has worked extensively with these types of conditions and devices for over 15 years. We have worked with various types of medical professionals, including podiatrists, vascular surgeons, physical therapists, lymphedema therapists, and wound care professionals to provide compression therapy treatments to help people like you feel and live better.

We do not provide compression devices and associated garments directly to patients. We work with Durable Medical Equipment (DME) suppliers to give patients access to compression devices and associated garments.

Products

Once your physician or health professional diagnoses you with one of these conditions, you eventually may be prescribed a Sequential Compression Device (SCD), or compression pump. These devices are utilized with compression garments that inflate and deflate with air to move fluid that has pooled in your arms or legs in the correct physiological direction. Our line of leg and arm compression pumps and associated garments provide various types of treatment options, based on individual diagnoses.

At-Home Therapy

Compression devices and garments can be utilized at home by patients. Durable Medical Equipment (DME) suppliers and their trained and certified healthcare professionals set patients up at home with devices. Utilizing therapy at home allows patients to receive treatment in a familiar, comfortable environment.

Insurance

SCD products are reimbursable by Medicare and private insurances. They may be referred to as Pneumatic Compression Devices (PCD) as well. However, each patient’s situation is different. Be sure to check with your Medicare or insurance carrier to determine what your benefits pay for and allow.
